You would have heard that the tax-free window for CBU imported EVs is closing at the end of 2025, with no extension in sight. This means that it’s the last call for one to purchase a high-performance EV like the Lotus Eletre and Emeya at current prices, which make them unbeatable value propositions. It really is a case of now or never!
Even better, the Lotus Eletre and Emeya have been updated for the 2026 model year, and we have a new naming scheme that introduces the ‘600’ variant with even more attractive pricing for the super EVs. The Eletre 600 retails for RM499,000 while the Emeya 600 starts from RM459,000.
Those RRPs are expiring soon. Without the CBU tax exemption for EVs, duties equivalent to the rate imposed on ICE and hybrid cars could bring prices of Lotus EVs up by over RM200k. That’s the chunk of money you’ll be saving if you act now.
The Eletre 600 comes with a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain packing 612 PS (450 kW) and 710 Nm of torque for a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 258 km/h. A 112 kWh (107 kWh usable) lithium-ion battery is standard across the SUV range, with support for DC fast charging up to 350 kW (10-80% in 20 minutes) thanks to 800V electrical architecture. WLTP range is between 530 and 600 km.
The Emeya 600 also comes with the same dual-motor AWD powertrain, but the super sedan is faster to 100 km/h at just 4.15 seconds. WLTP range from the 102 kWh battery is up to 610 km.
As impressive as the performance stats are, the Eletre and Emeya are jaw-dropping in the metal thanks to bold design and a substantial size – they look like nothing else on the road and are cars that you have to experience in person.
The good news is that you can do exactly that at Sunway Pinnacle from October 17-31. The two Lotus EVs will be on display at the lobby from 9am to 6pm on weekdays, so grab this opportunity to check them out. Once again, this CBU tax-free ‘gift’ is unlikely to ever return so don’t let this opportunity slip.
