JBL expands Tune Series with long-lasting ANC headphones at CES 2026

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 5, 2026, JBL announced expansions to its Tune Series headphones, introducing models with enhanced sound, upgraded performance, and new designs to match everyday listening requirements.

The new collection includes the JBL Tune 780NC over-ear headphones and JBL Tune 680NC on-ear headphones, which bring Adaptive Noise Cancelling and JBL Spatial Sound to the value headphone category. These models equip users with two beamforming microphones paired with JBL Noise Suppression algorithms for clear calls in various settings, such as libraries, crowded trains, or during playlist sessions. Personalization occurs through Personi-Fi 3.0 in the JBL Headphones app, while Adaptive Noise Cancelling with Smart Ambient allows adjustment of environmental awareness. Battery life extends up to 76 hours, supporting extended use for active schedules. Both versions maintain the iconic JBL aesthetic in updated forms.

The JBL Tune 730BT over-ear headphones feature 40 mm drivers, and the JBL Tune 530BT on-ear headphones use 33 mm drivers, both delivering JBL Pure Bass Sound. These Bluetooth models provide reliable performance for daily audio needs, incorporating refreshed designs that preserve audio quality during upgrades.

For wired preferences, the JBL Tune 530 Wired and JBL Tune 530C headphones integrate 33 mm drivers with JBL Pure Bass Sound, emphasizing comfort and durability in lightweight, foldable structures. A tangle-free flat cable facilitates portability and reduces listening interruptions. The JBL Tune 530C adds USB-C connectivity, compatible with smartphones, tablets, PCs, and Macs for broader device support.

The wireless in-ear JBL Tune 135BT employs an 8.6 mm driver, and the JBL Tune 235BT uses a 12.5 mm driver, both producing JBL Pure Bass Sound in lightweight, compact builds suited for mobility. Battery capacity reaches up to 25 hours, with Speed Charge providing three additional hours from 10 minutes of charging, accommodating demanding routines. Two fit options ensure comfort during extended wear.

All models in the expanded Tune Series support Personi-Fi 3.0 via the JBL Headphones app, enabling customized audio profiles based on individual hearing characteristics. Fresh colors distinguish the lineup, alongside on-ear and over-ear choices. Foldable and durable construction enhances portability across scenarios.

“The JBL Tune series continues to be an essential part of our lineup, bringing powerful sound and trusted performance to everyday listeners,” said Carsten Olesen, President, Consumer Audio at HARMAN. “With Tune, we’re expanding our legacy through products that make great audio more accessible, expressive, and connected than ever before.”

Availability begins with the JBL Tune 135BT and JBL Tune 235BT on JBL.com in January 2026. The JBL Tune 780NC, Tune 680NC, Tune 730BT, Tune 530BT, Tune 530 Wired, and Tune 530C follow in June 2026.

The JBL Tune 780NC and Tune 680NC address diverse listening contexts by integrating advanced call features. The two beamforming microphones capture voice accurately amid background noise, with JBL Noise Suppression algorithms filtering distractions for natural conversations. Personi-Fi 3.0 analyzes user hearing via the app, adjusting frequency responses for optimized playback. Adaptive Noise Cancelling dynamically reduces unwanted sounds, while Smart Ambient permits voices or announcements to pass through when activated. The 76-hour battery life, measured without ANC, sustains multi-day use without recharging, including power for ANC modes that slightly reduce duration.

In the JBL Tune 730BT, the 40 mm drivers produce deep bass and clear mids, characteristic of JBL Pure Bass tuning refined over decades. The Tune 530BT’s 33 mm drivers scale this performance for on-ear comfort, maintaining balance across genres from podcasts to tracks. Both connect via Bluetooth for wireless freedom, with designs emphasizing ergonomic fit for prolonged sessions.

The JBL Tune 530 Wired uses a standard 3.5 mm jack with its flat cable, preventing knots during storage or travel. The Tune 530C shifts to USB-C, plugging directly into modern devices without adapters, supporting plug-and-play audio on Android phones, iPads, laptops, and desktops. Foldable hinges collapse the headbands, fitting into bags or pockets easily.

For the in-ear models, the JBL Tune 135BT’s smaller 8.6 mm driver suits compact ears, delivering punchy bass despite size. The Tune 235BT’s larger 12.5 mm driver expands soundstage for immersive lows. Both include in-line controls for volume, tracks, and calls, plus multi-point Bluetooth pairing. The 25-hour battery covers full days, with quick charge mitigating low-power situations during commutes or workouts.
