Motorola expands Moto Things lineup at CES 2026

Motorola announced three new Moto Things accessories at CES 2026 in Las Vegas from January 4 to 9: the Moto Tag 2 Bluetooth tracker, Moto Pen Ultra stylus, and Moto Watch smartwatch, expanding its lineup launched in 2024 with wireless earbuds, a Bluetooth tracker, and a low-cost smartwatch.

The Moto Things accessory line debuted in 2024, introducing wireless earbuds alongside an initial Bluetooth tracker and an inexpensive smartwatch. This foundation allowed Motorola to build further at CES 2026, where the company unveiled sequels and new entries tailored for enhanced connectivity and functionality across devices.

The Moto Watch features a 47 mm round face equipped with a stainless-steel crown and an aluminum frame. It includes a PANTONE “Volcanic Ash” silicone band as standard. The design accommodates third-party 22 mm bands, enabling users to swap bands for varied customization options.

Battery performance on the Moto Watch reaches up to 13 days under normal usage conditions. With the always-on display activated, this extends to seven days. A built-in speaker and microphone support hands-free controls and deliver audio notifications directly from the wrist.

Durability specifications for the Moto Watch include Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the front glass. It holds an IP68 rating, certifying resistance to water and dust ingress, suitable for everyday wear including exposure to splashes or submersion.

Fitness and health tracking on the Moto Watch rely on integration with Polar, a company producing its own fitness trackers and smartwatches. Users access calorie logging to record daily intake. Workout sessions and general activity levels receive monitoring through metrics such as a daily Activity Goal and an Activity Score.

Sleep monitoring provides detailed overnight data. Dual-frequency GPS enables precise location tracking during outdoor activities, covering runs, bike rides, and hikes, ensuring accurate distance and route information regardless of environmental interference.

The Moto Pen Ultra stylus pairs with Motorola’s new Razr Fold folding phone. Unlike Samsung, which removed S Pen stylus support from its Galaxy Z Fold 7 to achieve a thinner profile, Motorola incorporates stylus functionality. The Moto Pen Ultra ships with a dedicated charging case.

Input capabilities on the Moto Pen Ultra encompass palm rejection, which ignores hand touches on the screen during writing, and tilt sensitivity, which adjusts line thickness or shading based on angle for precise strokes mimicking traditional pen use.

Compatibility extends to Google’s Circle to Search feature, allowing users to circle elements on screen for instant searches. AI software supports “Sketch to Image,” transforming simple hand-drawn sketches into detailed generated images through on-device processing.

The Moto Tag 2 advances the original Moto Tag tracker with extended battery life exceeding 500 days, surpassing the original’s year-long duration. It achieves an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, matching the smartwatch’s durability standards.

Connectivity includes an ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna and Bluetooth Channel Sounding technology. These enable users to measure the precise distance to a tracked item, aiding location in crowded or obstructed environments. The tracker links to Google’s Find Hub network for broad coverage via nearby devices.

A programmable button on the Moto Tag 2 allows pressing to ring a paired phone when misplaced. Alternatively, customization sets it as a remote camera shutter button, facilitating hands-free photography from a distance.

Motorola omitted pricing information for the Moto Tag 2, Moto Pen Ultra, and Moto Watch. Availability schedules confirm the Moto Watch launches on January 22 via the company’s website. The Moto Tag 2 and Moto Pen Ultra arrive in North America in the coming months.
