Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia\u2019s largest university, has announced that it\u2019s placing student educational records onchain using Space and Time\u2019s verifiable solution. The move will entail course credentials for 60,000 students being securely stored on the blockchain for ZK-proven data developed by Space and Time (SxT).<\/p>\n
In addition to implementing SxT\u2019s student records service, Gadjah Mada University is hosting an AI lab on campus that will teach students how to create AI-powered applications using Dreamspace \u2013 another service developed by Space and Time. The dual announcements add weight to Indonesia\u2019s status as a fast-growing East Asian tech economy while further showcasing the versatility of Space and Time\u2019s blockchain stack.<\/p>\n
Not only is Gadjah Mada University (also known as Universitas Gadjah Mada or UGM) Indonesia\u2019s largest university, but it\u2019s one of its oldest too, having been founded in 1949. It\u2019s highly regarded both on account of the quality and diversity of the courses it offers. Its decision to adopt SxT\u2019s student verification system follows a recent partnership between the latter and Indomobil Group, one of the country\u2019s largest publicly traded entities, to develop the project with the goal of streamlining student services.<\/p>\n
Built on SXT Chain \u2013 the native blockchain of Space and Time \u2013 the initiative enables proof of course completion to be securely stored and accessed onchain. This makes it easier for prospective employers as well as other educational bodies to verify that students have the qualifications they claim to possess, while simultaneously enhancing the opportunities available to students by allowing courses to be paid for using the SXT token.<\/p>\n

While Indomobil Group and SxT developed the initiative, it\u2019s fallen to Gadjah Mada University to become the first major university to integrate the solution. This move has been complemented by the creation of the AI lab on campus that will empower students to not only generate AI apps, but to effortlessly deploy and monetize them.<\/p>\n
As Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko, Vice Rector for Partnership at Gadjah Mada University, explains: \u201cBy giving students the ability to build and deploy AI applications and prove what they\u2019ve learned, Space and Time is helping us prepare our graduates to compete globally and lead in the next wave of technology. This industry-academia partnership enables UGM to be an AI-ready university in the long run.\u201d<\/p>\n
Around the world, universities are racing to roll out AI courses, both in response to student demand and to reflect the growth of artificial intelligence which is transforming everything it touches \u2013 and becoming an essential knowledge base for all tech graduates. AI education has expanded rapidly in Indonesia and East Asia, driven by regional tech growth and government initiatives.<\/p>\n
Programs range from undergraduate degrees to specialized master\u2019s and research-focused tracks, with a focus on machine learning and natural language processing. At UGM, there are courses centered around ethical AI and robotics, and its utilization of SxT\u2019s Dreamspace will strengthen this foundation.<\/p>\n
