He added that he is hopeful that the government will continue to encourage EV uptake in order to meet MITI\u2019s goal of having EVs make up 20% of Malaysia\u2019s total industry volume (TIV) by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>During the recent tabling of Budget 2026, it was not mentioned if import and excise duty exemptions for fully-imported (CBU) EVs would be extended beyond its current deadline of December 31, 2025, despite industry players pushing for it.
