Under the skin is Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) series-parallel hybrid powertrain that is comprised of a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 143 PS and 215 Nm, paired with a 204 PS\/310 Nm electric motor with an integrated dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) for combined outputs of 275 PS and 365 Nm.<\/p>\n

Fuel efficiency is the key attraction with the Tiggo 8 PHEV, which offers a claimed pure EV range of 90 km from its 18.3 kWh battery, and when used in combination with the ICE, provides a combined hybrid range of up to 1,200 km from a 60 litre fuel tank. <\/p>\n

Evidently, there\u2019s plenty of range for most daily EV driving, and when the time comes to recharge, the ability to take up to 40 kW DC charging brings a 30-80% recharge in just 19 minutes. For AC charging, up to 6.6 kW is possible, which yields a 30-80% recharge in three hours. <\/p>\n

Much to match its stablemate the Tiggo 7 PHEV, then, though of course the Tiggo 8 PHEV brings the added advantage of a third row. One-touch fold and slide functionality aids access, and conveniences in the Tiggo 8 PHEV include a front passenger seat \u2018boss switch\u2019, an auto-dim rear-view mirror, wireless Apple CarPlay\/Android Auto, a 540-degree camera and voice command. <\/p>\n

Additional features include synthetic leather upholstery for the six-way power adjustable driver\u2019s seat and four-way power adjustable front passenger seat, HD dashcam, double-glazed glass, 10 Sony speakers and 64-colour ambient lighting.<\/p>\n

On top of all these, purchasing the Tiggo 8 PHEV comes with the peace of mind that is a seven-year\/150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year\/160,000 km battery power pack, power motor and hybrid control unit warranty, plus five years\u2019 free labour service. Just in case the hybrid battery\u2019s state of health dips below 70% while under warranty, you\u2019ll get a one-to-one replacement. <\/p>\n
