OpenAI and Summers could not be reached for immediate comment.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, Summers said he would be stepping back from public life. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;I am deeply ashamed of my actions and recognize the pain they have caused,&quot; he said in a statement to BI on Monday. &quot;I take full responsibility for my misguided decision to continue communicating with Mr. Epstein.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><em>This story is developing.
