iOS 26.3: iPhone just got a lot better at talking to Android phones

Apple released version 26.3 of its operating systems for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, delivering bug fixes and security updates across the four platforms.

The iOS 26.3 and iPadOS 26.3 updates are classified as minor releases that primarily address software bugs. They are distributed through the standard over‑the‑air mechanism and apply to all supported iPhone and iPad models.

Both operating systems resolve 37 security vulnerabilities, as reported by 9to5Mac. The vulnerabilities span multiple components, including kernel, networking and application layers.

A new migration tool enables transfer of photos, notes, messages, applications and other data from an Apple device to an Android phone. The tool initiates a secure connection and copies selected items to the target device.

The tool excludes health information, protected notes and protected photos from the migration. Users must retain such data on the original Apple device or employ alternative methods for transfer.

An additional option allows forwarding of notifications from an iPhone or iPad to another device, limited to users within the European Union. The feature respects regional privacy regulations and activates only when the user opts in.

macOS Tahoe 26.3 provides bug corrections and security enhancements for Mac computers. The release addresses stability concerns reported by users and incorporates patches for identified vulnerabilities.

watchOS 26.3 delivers similar bug fixes and security improvements for Apple Watch devices. The update targets performance issues and resolves several known exploits.

Industry insiders suggest that the forthcoming 26.4 release may contain a refreshed Siri interface and additional emoji options. The speculation follows a pattern of reserving major feature sets for later updates.
