According to TechNode, OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger confirmed that Tencent Cloud and Tencent AI have become sponsors of the OpenClaw community, with the sponsorship details published on the project’s GitHub page.
The partnership signals the resolution of a prior dispute between the two sides over data scraping issues. Tencent Cloud will provide lightweight application servers to enable one-click deployment of OpenClaw, lowering technical barriers for users.
The company has launched a free installation program across 17 cities in China. Tencent Cloud also introduced enterprise-grade security sandbox and permission management solutions.
The prior dispute had drawn attention after Meta head Summer Yue lost 200 emails to a rogue OpenClaw agent in February, according to a previous report.
