Apple and Nike are launching a new color option for the Powerbeats Pro 2 earphones, branded as the Nike Special Edition. The collaboration features a shoe-inspired design using Nike’s “Volt” palette, which showcases an electric yellow-green color theme.
The Nike Special Edition retains the core functionalities of the original Powerbeats Pro 2, which include heart-rate tracking, active noise cancellation (ANC), and Spatial Audio. The Beats logo is featured on the left earbud, with Nike’s swoosh appearing on the right. The charging case boasts a unique design resembling splattered paint.
Basketball star LeBron James, sponsored by both brands, appears in an ad promoting the new earphones that includes Lionel Richie’s music. The product will be available for order on March 20, 2024, through Apple’s and Nike’s websites at a price of $250, consistent with the original version. This limited-edition item may not remain in stock long term.
“This isn’t just a new colorway,” said Chris Thorne, Chief Marketing Officer for Beats. “It’s a collision of two brands that define performance, culture and sports — the attributes of today’s athlete.”
The Powerbeats Pro 2 were initially launched last year. The addition of the Nike Special Edition allows customers to choose a distinct aesthetic without altering the performance features that have been well received in the standard model. This limited-edition item may not remain in stock long term.
