Over the past day, the Russian army lost another 1,170 troops at the front. Ukrainian defenders also destroyed an aircraft, 82 artillery systems, and more than 2,000 operational-tactical level drones. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to UNN.

According to the estimates of the Ukrainian command, Russia's total combat losses from February 24, 2022, to May 17, 2026, amount to approximately 1,348,790 military personnel.
According to the General Staff, over the past day, the defense forces also destroyed one tank, four armored fighting vehicles, two multiple launch rocket systems, and three air defense systems.
AFU destroyed over 2,000 Russian drones in one day
The Russian army suffered its greatest losses in unmanned equipment – the Ukrainian military eliminated 2,131 operational-tactical level UAVs.
The occupiers also lost 325 units of motor vehicles and tankers, 13 ground robotic systems, and five units of special equipment.
In addition, the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed two more cruise missiles of the Russian troops.
Total Russian losses exceeded 11,000 tanks
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, according to the General Staff, Russia has lost 11,938 tanks, 24,578 armored fighting vehicles, and 42,215 artillery systems.
The Ukrainian military also destroyed 436 aircraft, 352 helicopters, 1,790 MLRS, and 1,384 air defense systems.
The General Staff emphasized that data on the losses of the Russian army are still being clarified.
