Magyar speaks of agreement with Costa regarding the rights of Hungarians in Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar held a conversation with European Council President António Costa regarding the steps expected from Kyiv on the issue of Hungarian rights in Ukraine. He reported this on Facebook, UNN informs.

According to Magyar, before the Hungarian government meeting, he spoke with Costa by phone and informed him about the start of "technical-level consultations with the Ukrainian side to guarantee the linguistic, educational, and cultural rights of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia through legislation as soon as possible."

President António Costa informed me that he had made it clear to the President of Ukraine the day before that any further steps must be preceded by ensuring respect for the rights of the Hungarian minority in Ukraine

In turn, the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs Anita Orbán reported that Hungarian-Ukrainian expert-level negotiations will begin with the involvement of representatives of Transcarpathian Hungarians in order to organize the rights of the Hungarian community in Transcarpathia.
